The Space Between

Lately, I’ve found myself returning to simplicity, not as something minimal or lacking, but as something deeply full. Full of feeling, of quiet presence, of a kind of strength that doesn’t need to announce itself. In a world that often feels loud and overwhelming, my work has become a space where I can soften, slow down, and listen more closely.

These recent pieces were created from that place of stillness. I wasn’t chasing complexity or perfection, I was following emotion. I wanted to strip things back and focus on what truly matters to me as an artist: expression, color, and the subtle language of feeling. The faces that emerge in my work carry a calm, almost introspective energy. They don’t demand attention; they invite it. Surrounded by warm, radiant tones and organic elements, they exist in a space that feels both grounded and luminous.

My art has always been rooted in connection. Connection between people, with nature, and within ourselves. In these pieces, that connection feels quieter, more intimate. One holds a sense of stillness—of simply being, present and centered. The other carries a gentle interaction, almost like a whisper between human and nature, where softness becomes a form of communication. These moments may feel small, but to me, they hold something expansive.

Femininity is also at the heart of my work, not as a fixed idea, but as a feeling. Something fluid, intuitive, and deeply connected to emotion and nature. In these pieces, I explore femininity as both softness and strength, as something delicate yet deeply rooted. There is a quiet confidence in these figures, a sense of knowing without needing to explain.

My inspiration continues to be shaped by color, especially the warmth and vibrancy that remind me of home and cultural memory. The tones I choose are intentional; they carry emotion, light, and a sense of life. Even within simplicity, color becomes a voice—guiding the viewer, holding the energy of the piece, and creating a space that feels alive yet peaceful.

Simplicity in my work is not about doing less; it’s about revealing more. It’s about removing distractions so that what remains can be truly seen and felt. It’s about trusting that softness can be powerful, that stillness can speak, and that quiet moments can hold deep meaning.

These pieces are, in many ways, an invitation. To pause. To breathe. To reconnect. To notice the beauty in subtle gestures, in silence, in presence. Because sometimes, it is in the simplest moments where we find ourselves most fully.
